Been Meaning To Share This With Everyone

I been meaning to tell this little story.
So I was going through my gallery and noticed that all the pics were bright ass colors with dark around it. I didn't really think about it much cause it's been the way I have always been.
I like bright colors and dark backgrounds (if any at all).
But then it hit me. Something not many people do know about me, is that I am half color blind. It's not that I can't see colors. But I can't see them in shades and tones. So it's been harder on me to use the toned down colors cause I can't see them well.
I couldn't tell you if I used dark blue, purple or black on some of my art. But it looks good. That's all I know.
It's been this way for may years and I am trying to train my eyes to notice the difference in the colors. It's usually tones too close like red orange and orange red. Or lime green and yellow green. Black and dark blue.
I used to have to buy crayons and colored pencils ONLY if they had the names of the colors on them. If they didn't I couldn't use them.
It has gotten better but I still feel like I am lacking a huge array of the spectrum in my work cause of it.
I tried different background colors which works rather well. Color wheels and swatches so I can see where the bar is. Little things to try and get around it. But I still notice the impairment in my works cause of it.
I will get by as I always did with it. But I wish I could do some really amazing coloring and shading. Just can't tell what I am doing sometimes.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Maybe you should ask a shading artists about this since I don't even use shading techniques in colors.

This is an ART SITE. Flash-bleached pictures of yourself making hand gestures that you took with a digital camera at arm's length are NOT art. MySpace is THAT way. -->
and honestly i would never have know, your artwork is great and i never gave a though about the dark background, but the vibrant colors your characters seems to have is something i have always enjoyed.
